Child Protection and Safeguarding Campaign

Let’s shift our Conversations to Action

6 to 13 September 2026

September is a time to act on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across Australia and New Zealand. Child Protection Week in Australia and Child Safeguarding Week in Aotearoa New Zealand remind us to Shift our Conversations to Action and to ask How safe are the places our children go?

Jesus welcomed children, cared for the vulnerable, and called us to care for “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). Safeguarding reflects the heart of Christ and our commitment to Christian discipleship.

Our Child Protection & Safeguarding campaign is to remind us as church members and families, your whānau, to talk with our children about personal safety, trusted adults, and speaking up. Adsafe is sharing easy to use downloadable resources to support these conversations.

We thank our pastors as Adsafe Responsible Officers and Adsafe Compliance Assistants along with church ministry leaders and volunteers who help keep our church communities safe.

Together, we can help build “A thriving Church where abuse has no place and healing begins” —where all people feel safe, supported, respected, and valued.

Start the conversation. Share the resources. Help keep children safe.
